James E. Hartwig

Since joining the firm, James E. Hartwig's practice has been directed toward business law, tax law, wills, estate planning, real estate and employee benefits.

Mr. Hartwig's education includes an undergraduate degree from Carroll College and a Law Degree from the University of Wisconsin. He is an experienced tax accountant, having worked for a national public accounting firm in that capacity.

Mr. Hartwig has lectured on real estate law at the University of Wisconsin Law School General Practice Course and was a faculty speaker at the Wisconsin State Bar Continuing Legal Education Program on representing small businesses. Mr. Hartwig served as a director of the Rock County National Bank. He is also a member of the Rock County Bar Association, the State Bar of Wisconsin and the American Bar Association, and a former member of the Rock County Professional Responsibility Committee.

His community involvement includes: current director of Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, past president of the Janesville Area Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Greater Janesville Corporation, past president of his church congregation and a legal advisor to the Board of Directors of the Janesville Literacy Council for over twenty-five years. He is a former director of Janesville Boys Baseball, Inc. and the Sinnissippi Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
